Hypnotherapy and Counselling in Verwood, Dorset and online across the UK

Do you seem okay on the outside but not okay underneath?

You might be anxious, overwhelmed, self-critical, or having a sense of disconnection that other people don’t see.

Maybe you understand why you feel this way.

Maybe you are only beginning to notice it.

Therapy can be a place to make sense of what is happening and explore a way forward.

You may be here because…

  • You play back conversations and choices long after they’ve happened.

  • You look as though you are fine and you don’t rouse much suspicion amongst your close ones (or maybe they are now starting to notice), and inside, you might feel anxious, panicky, overwhelmed, or even disconnected.

  • You become overreactive, defensive or shut-off in relationships, perhaps negatively affecting your intimacy, and you know deep down that is not how you want to be.

  • You are hard on yourself and/or have this sense that you are somehow not enough.

Whether you understand why these patterns happen or not, you would ideally like a space to explore them safely, rather than being told to think and feel differently.

I’m Ben, a hypno-psychotherapeutic counsellor.

Many of the people I work with seem “fine” on the outside but may feel debilitated internally by shame, overthinking, high emotional reactivity, numbness or feeling burdened by the vague the sense that they are somehow not enough.

Together, we’ll create a therapeutic space that’s safe and collaborative.

Note: I’m currently working towards full UKCP accreditation. My practice is closely supervised by an experienced UKCP-accredited psychotherapist, ensuring you receive high-quality, ethically grounded support.

Let’s take that first step together.

My work is relational and trauma-informed and depth-focused. That means we do not simply try to force symptoms away. We listen carefully to what your anxiety, shame, anger, numbness or self-criticism may be trying to protect you from.

Depending on what feels right for you, our work may include counselling, hypnotherapy, parts-informed work, imagery, grounding, emotional regulation and safe ways of working with distressing memories.

You stay in control throughout. We go at your pace. The aim is not to overwhelm you, but to help you build more steadiness, self-trust and choice.
